Download and Install Instructions

If you have ordered the Additions Pack, separate instructions will be sent by email.  This is a manual process at the time so it may be an hour or two before you receive the email.

If you have recently downloaded the EazyDraw Demo, there is no need to download again.  The Demo download is the full version of EazyDraw, you will just wait to receive your license code by email which will fully enable the EazyDraw application.

Click the Download link then read the instructions below while the file is being retrieved from our web site. If you have recently downloaded the EazyDraw demo and just completed a purchase, there is no need to download again.  The content of "Demo" and the full product are the same, the license you will receive removes the demo restrictions.

If you see a screen of gibberish characters - you will need to hold down the Option key when you click the download link. You may also hold down the Control Key, click the link and select an action from the contextual menu.

EazyDraw is delivered electronically as a disk image file (.dmg). The following steps should happen automatically, except for the step of dragging EazyDraw to your applications folder.  You will download the disk image (item 1 on the left) to your hard drive and mount the virtual hard drive (item 2 on the left) by double clicking (if necessary) the disk image icon.  Then drag the full EazyDraw application (item 3 on the left) to your Applications Folder (item 4).

If you are familiar with downloading software, just go with flow, as there is nothing special here.  If you are not familiar with the process, we have outlined each step in detail on this page.

We use drag-n-drop installation. Everything needed to operate EazyDraw on your computer is contained in the EazyDraw application - item 3 on the left. We recommend placing the EazyDraw application bundle in your Applications folder.  But this is not a requirement, if you have different schema for locating your applications this should not be a problem.

The following steps outline the installation process in detail.

• Click on the Download link - top left column this page.  You may wish to Control Click the link and use the contextual menu and select Download Link To Disk.
If you get a screen full of gibberish characters, that means you MUST hold down the option key when you click on the download link.  The option key is necessary to force your browser to interpret the download as a data file rather than an html page.


• The download is approximately 22 Megabytes.  It should take a few minutes on a high speed link and a few tens of minutes over dial up.  Open your Downloads window from the Window main menu of your browser to see the progress of the download.


• The disk image (see element 1, left column) will probably be mounted and opened automatically.  If not, double click on the disk image icon.


• Double click the virtual hard drive (see element 2, left column) to see the contents which include the EazyDraw application, and a EazyDraw Folder and files with other information relevant to the current version.  Drag and drop the EazyDraw icon to your Applications folder.


• The next step is to launch EazyDraw. Double click the EazyDraw application (see element 3, left column) icon in your Applications folder.  The welcome screen will ask for the license code. You should have received an automatic reply e-mail with the license code.  It is best to copy paste the 4 individual sets of code numbers right from the e-mail to the license text boxes.  After the last code is pasted, hit the tab key once and the Enter Button should enable. Then click the enter button and the process is complete.


• There is the EazyDraw Folder on the virtual hard drive. This contain examples, tutorials and user library files. You will want to move these to your hard drive, perhaps Documents folder.  After the installation is complete you may view these files and learn more about the topics they cover.  Keep the User Libraries, as these are always useful. They provide pre-drawn graphics for use in your drawings.


• If your purchase included the PDF documentation, move that file to a convenient place on your hard drive.  This file is normally viewed with Preview and used independently from your EazyDraw application.
