Full Control of Geometry:
Specify an edge and center for the transition.
More or less than a cycle possible, use a slider or numeric entry to overrun or under apply a color cycle.
Full control of convergence point, interactively view variations of focal point of convergence.

Image composition boosts speed:
The complex vector functions used to create the gradient effect are CPU hogs.  We generate the pattern once, composite it to an image.  This solves the speed problem for vector based gradient fill.
This design brings along the advanced image composition effects supported by Mac OS X.
